God, look at me, a single woman, who has begged and begged you for something that seems like it is easy for other women to attain. It is love, the love between husband and wife, the union for which the woman clothes herself with a white gown and jewels just to greet her groom as beautiful. Look at me, who has curled her hair, and painted her nails, putting makeup on her lips and cheeks just to be attractive to a man. And the perfume I saved up money for, which I put on my wrists, was supposed to be for him, but he was not there. Jesus, it would be easy for me to lose hope and think I am not beautiful, so will you please enlighten me as to why I have not found him. Amen.
