Prayers for Forgiveness
As human beings, there are times we fall short, and we commit acts against other human beings that we end up regretting in the end. Have you ever said something mean to someone only to instantly regret it moments later? Have you been disrespectful to your parents, or told a lie to get out of something? These are all things that God does not like to see his children do. When we commit a sin we must seek forgiveness. The best way to seek forgiveness from your Holy Father is to ask the Lord to bear all transgressions of yourself and that of other people through prayer.
God loves us no matter what, but He does expect us to be responsible for our mistakes. By talking to God through prayer, this allows Him to know that you accept your mistakes, accept His mercy, and that you will seek Him in the future at all times, in all things.

Prayer for Personal Forgiveness
Lord, there are no words to express how horrible I feel every time I break Your heart. The guilt and the shame is overwhelming when I allow myself to do so. I ask for Your touch right now, and for Your forgiveness for all I’ve done. I am so sick of being “born again” and still doing the things I hate doing. The hardness of allowing myself to do wrong is a barrier between the two of us that I can’t stand. I love You, and I am so regrettably sorry for my selfish actions against You and all others. Thank You for Your forgiveness, Lord. With Your forgiveness I am whole again, and new. Amen.
Prayer for Forgiving Others
Holy Father, I can’t seem to shake the harm that’s been done to me from my thoughts. I am drowning in the anger I feel. Lord, I shouldn’t think the vengeful thoughts that I currently find myself having. You have called me to forgive every single person that wrongs me, but I need Your strength to overcome these trespasses against me. Father, I want to forgive those who have done wrong. I want to forgive them completely so that You can use me however You wish, and to be a loving example of You towards them. I ask that you take this burden from me. Do with me as you please Father. Amen.
Prayer for New Life
Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and I want to turn away from my past sinful life, drawing my eyes toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, and to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
Prayer for Hope and Forgiveness
Heavenly Father, from whom comes the beauty of each new day and every newborn child, I want to thank You for Your everlasting forgiveness and eternal hope. You turn the pages of our lives, filling our days with forgiveness, erasing our transgressions, and encouraging us to try again. You are the author of life, who brings fresh expectation into each day, for all of your treasured children. Lord, flood this heart of mine with your hope.

Father, I ask to be called as a witness to your love by the love I extend to others, and as a precursor of Your justice by my unfailing commitment to what is right and good. Prayer for Forgiveness of Adultery
Father, You are the God of Restoration, redeeming us from the pit which eternally lies below for everyone who rejects You. Yet, I feel rejected as my spouse is cheating and it breaks my heart into a million pieces. Please help me Father, in this great time of heartache. Help me to be able to continue in this marriage in the hopes that we can both be reconciled to one another, and seek forgiveness. I know that my spouse is not really happy inside and that the passing pleasures of sin are fleeting, but they cannot suppress their conscience for very long. I ask that You move my spouse to confess their sin, to be convicted of their sin, and to repent of their sin with the passionate desire that we can be reconciled to one another. You are the answer to our time of great need, conviction, and forgiveness. Amen.
Prayer for Forgiveness of Sins and Healing
Lord, I need your help and your insight more than ever. Today I have gained a better understanding of forgiving others and with your help; I fully forgive from my heart. Just as you have freely forgiven me, I forgive them. Father, I ask you to forgive me for hurting others out of my own hurt and to heal my relationships with those that I care about. I pray all of this in Jesus’ precious name and by whom all forgiveness and healing has been made possible. Thank you for loving me in ways I’ll never comprehend. I am so thankful to have You in my life, and to call you Father.
