Heavenly father. You know our hearts and what's inside of them. You know when we are happy, and You know when we are depressed. Regardless of how we feel, You love us with an enduring love that never wants to leave us behind. Your love is capable of healing our hurts, giving us hope, increasing our faith, and one day, delivering us from all sorrow and suffering.
Please allow Your love to heal Alston's heart and plant hope within that You are working in all circumstances. Replace the feelings of emptiness and hopelessness with Your spirit of peace that surpasses all understanding. We come against any lies or attacks of the enemy that are planted in his mind; may You flush them out completely with the redeeming blood of Your Son. May You fill him with the hope and renewal that comes only with the redeeming resurrection of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ.
Remind his heart that longs for peace because he was created for an eternity of peace with You. And one day, he will experience wholeness because Your love sent Jesus to make a way for each of us to have a relationship with You. Jesus took our place on the cross, paying the price for our wrongs, so that we could stand before You blameless and as new creations. Remind him that he is always and forever worthy in Your eyes because You have redeemed him with Your greatest sacrifice of all, by sending Your Son to lay down His life for him.
Give him the faith to know that all of these things are possible, even in his condition.
Heal his body and soul, comfort his heart, and fill him with Your peace and Holy Spirit. Help him to respond properly to his thoughts and to seek help whenever he feels overwhelmed. Give wisdom to the professionals to provide the proper treatment for him if it's necessary. Help him to overcome this season and surround him with godly people who will lift him up.
Lord, in Your name, we ask that You bring hope and light in this darkness he is grappling with. In Your name, he will be set free from it, for whom You set free shall be free indeed. We claim this promise of freedom and breakthrough in his life. Lift him up whenever he is grappled by emptiness, hopelessness, and despair in this situation. May Your Holy Spirit that surpasses all understanding dwell within him and give him hope, peace, and an abundance of joy. Assure him that You are still sovereign and above everything.
Remind him that he doesn't need to strive or struggle, for he can count on You. You are in control, Lord God. Just as You parted the Red Sea for Your people and multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, we trust that You will do it again in his situation.
Help him to continually trust in You, leaning on Your mercy and salvation. Remind him that You are the God who provides and help him to see beyond his current circumstances to the hopes and plans You have for him.
Lord, we also ask for your healing for his Rheumatic fever. May Your power of healing dispel this fever and bring complete cure to his heart. We ask for Your mercy, Your touch of healing to regulate all his bodily functions. We pray over this diagnosis, that Your will shall prevail over it, that the miraculous results will astound doctors. We ask that You remove anything that is not of You, any works of the enemy be flushed out in Jesus’ name. May You stop this illness in its tracks from spreading further. We ask for Your comfort and for Your mercy to be upon him and his family even at this difficult time.
We trust in You and Your provisions and timing.
